In honor of my 53rd post.......

......I'm having a 5 yo do my post. Yes it's gonna be good. She is going to do mostly pictures so hang on as Joy show's her writing ability!

(this is Joy speaking)
I picked this grass picture because I like grass. It is soft to sit in. I LOVE grass!!

I picked this picture because I wanted too. I like roses.

Primroses are pretty. The only thing that I know about primroses is that they are called primroses (LOL).

I like the Lhasa Apso on the left. I like the dog on the left because he's fluffy. I would name him Scotch Botch (*HUH*)

They sparkle!!!!! I like the red flowers.

Cardinals are red. Cardinals are pretty.

Strawberries are yummy and sweet.

I think that this dog is a Scottish terrier (ummmmm...... enough said!). I love puppies!

I like red apples better than green apples because they taste more better (yes she said that!). They taste sweet.

I like to do crafts. I just love colors!

I like to do workbooks. I like my workbooks better than these because they have funner stuff in them.

Candles are pretty. Mama one time bought Grandma a really fancy candle. I like it because it was fancy and nice!

This dress is poof-y. It has a cake on it. The cake is yummy! I know it is good because it looks yummy.

AND Joy says that this poster blog is done so I guess that means it is. Joy says for y'all to have a nice day!!

OK did y'all notice how many times Joy said 'pretty' and 'nice'? LOL that's a little kid for 'ya!

BEANS...... the family's life saver!

Yes, I know it's a rather strange post title. And other than THE Savior of the whole world (Jesus is the ULtiMate life saver!!), it's true!! When Joy was the 'baby of the family' she was our 'bean bag'. Joy could shove a whole bowl of beans down her gully in nothing flat. In fact, she'd be asking for more by the time the rest of us sat down to the table. One time on the Duggar show, Johanna Duggar was asked what her favorite food was..... her answer........ BEANS!! When we need to save a little money guess what Mama says? "Kids we're eating lots of beans this week."

All you need is...

.... water to cook....

...salt....

......a little ground beef (if you're a carnivore jk)....

..... some onions.....

..... bell peppers (my personal favorite;D)... and....

TA DA!!! You have a tasty, inexpensive, lovely smelling bowl of beans! You can eat it:
hot,
cold,
or in the pot nine days old (:P :P LOL).
And you can't forget who made this marvelous bean. Praise to the Creator who cares enough to lavish us with good, inexpensive things to eat!!

Pictures from Google.

Another Doll!

Here is another doll that I made. I'm going to do a boy twin too! I just haven't gotten around to him yet.

I made the dress out of silky fabric. I used netting for over the skirt and for the bib. It turned out fairly well. I'm not going to tell you what's wrong with it!! That's only for me to know (jk). This kind of fabric and netting works for small stuff but I wouldn't want to try it with a big dress *shudders*.

I used two bows placed on top of each other for the bow. The hair is soft yarn. I made it by wrapping the yarn around a piece of card board then sewing across the yarn to make a mat.

This is my favorite part of this doll...... the boots!! They were lots of fun to make and they look really neat.

I also gave the doll bloomers but.... I figured I wouldn't post pictures of that!
So that's it! I got the patterns from a rag doll book that we got off of the Keepers at Home website. The book was well worth the money!!
If any you or one of your siblings are interested in buying this contact me! I can set a price that works for you (and me).

*Chirp chirp* It's Spring!!

I love LOVE spring! It is my favorite time of year. The weather isn't too hot or too cold. The world is beginning to 'come alive' again.

The grass is soooo green!

The sky is a nice clear blue.
We can play outside again!

And barefoot season is back again. I absolutely love going barefoot.

They were playing dwarfs here. Don't ask me why!

The dogs can play outside without getting to too dirty.

Something that God spoke to me

I was having a problem with thinking of God as concerned with me. You know, He is soooo big and you wouldn't think that HE would have any time or want to have any time for me. I was also wrestling with the fact that God seemed kind of hard. You know in the Old Testament the requirement were pretty tough. That just didn't seem like a very 'kind' god to me. Well, I knew that all of these things were TOTALLY not true, but there is a difference between knowing in your mind and knowing in your heart if you KWIM. Well, I went to brush my teeth and I usually drink out of the faucet afterwards (LOL yes I still do that ::) :)). I was just thinking of how good the water tasted and God gave this thought to me, "God gave you that water." WOW that stopped me in my tracks! I suddenly really realized that God doesn't have to look like He is being 'kind'. HE gave me life, HE gives me food, HE gave me Jesus, HE gave me the chance to glorify Him! Who am I to say wether God looks like he is being good or anything?! The only thing that I have to do is....

Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

And...

Psalm 147

1 Praise the LORD.
How good it is to sing praises to our God,
how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the exiles of Israel.

3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

4 He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name.

5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.

6 The LORD sustains the humble
but casts the wicked to the ground.

7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving;
make music to our God on the harp.

8 He covers the sky with clouds;
he supplies the earth with rain
and makes grass grow on the hills.

9 He provides food for the cattle
and for the young ravens when they call.

10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his delight in the legs of a man;

11 the LORD delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.

12 Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem;
praise your God, O Zion,

13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates
and blesses your people within you.

14 He grants peace to your borders
and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

15 He sends his command to the earth;
his word runs swiftly.

16 He spreads the snow like wool
and scatters the frost like ashes.

17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
Who can withstand his icy blast?

18 He sends his word and melts them;
he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.

19 He has revealed his word to Jacob,
his laws and decrees to Israel.

20 He has done this for no other nation;
they do not know his laws.
Praise the LORD.

God is still the good God the Bible tells us about. HE is good in ways that I cannot understand.... that I don't need to understand. The only thing that I need to know is that God is being good to me every time I breath. Every time I speak. Every time I walk. He is being good to me to give me this time on earth and this family to live in. That's what it's all about. I only need to rest in the above Psalm and not question. I'm not saying that sometimes it's not necessary just for our own benefit to tell God about how we feel. I learned that after we express that feeling that we need to listen to what God's truth says and believe in that no matter what.

A tag! Yay!!

Here is a tag I got from Eldarwen's blog:

1. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Can I say heaven?! Well, I guess that's not on the earth now is it :D!! I'd want to be in the wild west with a good pinto horse!

2. Why did you start blogging?
My sister had one and she kept saying that is was lots of fun and that I should try it. Well, the idea began to grow on me and I created my first blog: Sewing Sensations. BuT, Sewing Sensations didn't work out very well because I don't do enough projects. So I trashed that blog and came up with Helping at Home. I like it a lot better!!

3. What is your ambition?
To follow God with all of my heart and to walk with Him every day.

4. How many siblings do you have?
I have 6 sisters and 3 brothers. L4J, Steven, Ann, Mary, Alva, Abigail, Joy, Grace, and Robert.

5. What's your favorite subject in school?
That would be Math and Literature because I don't have to study in those subjects :). I really DON'T like to study!

6. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.
I also love the song that Casting Crowns did on that one! Great song!

7. What is one of your hobbies?
Sewing! That is pretty much the only thing that I can do capably and I love to do it! OK I also like to sign. That is really fun too!

8. If someone handed you a five dollar bill, what would you do with it?
a. slip it in your wallet and think, "Ooh, this will buy me a yummy meal at Sonic!"
b. shove it in your pocket and forget about it, then while you're doing laundry you find it and say, "Hey, mom! Here's that five dollar bill I got the other day!"
c. give it to your younger sibling. It's just five dollars.
d. use it to buy that homeless man a meal.

I'm picking 'a'.

9. If your sibling came to you with their math book and asked for help, you'd say:
a. "Oh, here, let me help you."
b. "Too bad. I'm not good at math. Go ask mom."
c. "I'm sorry, I'm not very good at math. Can you go ask someone else?"
d. "I'm not good at math, but I'll try!"

Again 'a'. (A is my letter today. Let's just hope that I'll get an A on that upcoming Physical Science test!)

10. If you could have one of the following abilities, which would it be?
a. singing
b. sewing
c. skateboarding
d. song writing
e. guitar playing
f. swimming
g. writing
h. riding a bike

'f'! When I get in deep water I begin to panic! AHHHHHH!! That's why I want to learn.
Dinner time so I gotta go!

Ok so maybe I do have a little time!

Hi. I managed to get some time for blogger in a rather unpleasant way..... I'm sick (yuck). But, don't worry! It's just a sinus thing that I've had for probably a year. I don't like it either because whenever the weather changes I get this. My vision blocks out, I get a terrible headache, and worst of all, I throw up. OK I gotta stop thinking about it because whenever I do I feel like gagging. I wonder why that is? I guess it's kinda like if you don't like a food and whenever you think about it you feel kinda queasy.

I think I'll just tell ya'll a little about myself (just to kill time ya know ;).

L4J is my eldest sister and the oldest in our family. She is a dog groomer at a pet store and does (at the most) 6 dogs a day. Yay! go L4J! After her comes my 16 yo brother. I would put a link to his blog BuT he has his last name up there and then ya'll would know my last name too ;). The reason for him letting hiss first name out is that he records music and hopes to publish a CD some day and his music has played on the radio. Not sure which station though (what's up with that? I'm his sister and I don't even know! LOL.) Then, comes me. I was born on my grandmother's birthday and am, as of now, 15. I am working on 9th grade and that's my main focus right now. I'm trying to sell dolls but etsy didn't really work that great for me. I can't say that I tried that hard though :(. I'm replacing my sibs names BTW. After me, is Ann. She is 12 and my best buddy! Mary is 10 and she and I are a lot alike. Mary always has a nice smile for everybody! Alva is 9. He has a knack for school and drawing (well, more of a knack than any in my family! Don't even try to get me to draw. I'll give you stick figures LOL). Abigail is 7 and is our athletic lady. She zooms and dodges around like nothing I've ever seen. Joy is 5 and learning to read. She is quite a character, lit me tell you! Grace is 3 and VERY (let me say that again!) VERY energetic. She is currently learning that obedience is the best thing for little ladies. Last but defiantly not least is Robert. He is our last sibling and very cute! He is going to be our last sibling so..... we have to remember not to spoil him! I can't say much about him..... well, just that he's a baby!

And I can't forget who is raising us: Mama and Daddy!! When Mom was a little girl she said that she wanted 10 kids. Well, that was a prophecy because it came true! When Mom and Dad got married They weren't expecting 10 kids but GOD knew!

When we got our big V 10 (Sorry, I just had to add that! Daddy loves the big 'vroom vroom' of our van LOL) 12 passenger van, Daddy said, "OK honey! Fill her up!" and mom did.

I have to be honest. I sometimes feel really weird when we go shopping or whatever. Mama likes us to go in single file when we go shopping so there is this long line of kids. Often times, pple stop and point and count under their breath. Or this kid in cart shouts,"Mom they have 10 kids!!!". Or when Dad tells pple he has 10 kids he automatically says, "By the same woman and no I'm not Mormon (I think he should add that we're not Quiver Full either. I'm not against quiver full pple! Please don't get that impression!.)"I don't really mind that much, but it is a little weird! And also, many pple think Mom and Dad are crazy for having so many kids.To be rejected is something that isn't on my 'like list',KWIM? But there are very encouraging pple too! May God bless those who build up others!

Anyway, there's my family! Let me tell you, it gets hard when lots of pple are in the same
house all day. Things get a little intense if you know what I mean ;). But it's good for me too have sibs. I'm getting LOTs of practice at relationship stuff!

I'd like to ask two questions:
  • Have any of you tried to sell stuff? If so, what worked for you? Give me some ideas on picture taking pleeeaaaseeee!
  • How did some of you get a button for your blog? Ot is that something that I have to get special stuff on?
I think that's all I have for right now. TTFN!!!!

Hi! Just letting ya'll know that I won't be posting that much. I need to get done with 9th grade and so that's going to occupy most of my time. I also wanted to get some sewing done. I want to post two of my dolls up for sale on eBay, so I'm trying to finish those up. Ya'll have a great week!
Blessings,
Moe

Con-Science

One day I asked Mama how to spell conscience. She began spelling but I didn't get all of it, so Mom said, "It's 'con' and 'science' put together." Well, I didn't give it much thought at the time but upon later reflection I realized something. When you say that someone is a con it means that they are false. They aren't what they say that they are. When someone is scientific they are logical and smart. So put the two together and you get....... something that goes against logic. Isn't that why God gave everyone a conscience? To help theus go against what seems logical! Sin looks really fun and great and the world says, "Come on! Have fun!". And if it weren't for that God given con-science I would follow that beckon. Praise God who is kind enough to give us the knowledge from right and wrong!

We're Done!

This project went really fast!! I'm going to make one more scarf then I'm want to make a blanket for my other brother. I want to use the left over Homespun and one more color. I just need to find a pattern now!

Here is mine. I really like the Homespun yarn. Well, there were a few challenges that came with it but all that was made up for by the nice soft feeling! It is really comfy and little bro doesn't even know that it's for him!

And one last view. 12 yo sister played model for me.

This is 12 yo sisters scarf. Her's was a little stiff. I think that it was because of the type of yarn. We'll know not to use this type anyhow! I think that she did really well working with two strands of yarn at the same time.

Knit or Crochet along

OK so here's a little bit more detailed account of what I'm doing for Eden's crochet or knit along.
My 12 yo sister is doing the same pattern as I am. She's using pink and green yarn together. I thought that those two colors together looked really feminine.

Here is the yarn that I'm using. It's called Homespun and I thought my 8yo brother would like it since it's a little bit more boyish if you know what I mean. I said to 12 you sister, "You get to do the girly scarf and I have to do the boyish one (*sigh*)"

We're doing a pattern that we got for free at the Wal-Mart. The pattern is really simple (good thing for me LOL) and I like it because it's twisty and curvy. Anyway G2G.

Joy challenge

I didn't do the requirements for this challenge (at Feminine Farmgirl), but I accidentally signed up for the report, so here are some things that gave me joy this month!
1. The snow that we got! Yay!! We rarely get snow where we live so that was pretty big.
2. My 3 yo sisters obedience when Dad and Mom went to the conference. It was such a blessing to see her trying to obey and do right.
3. My 12 yo sister. She is so funny and encouraging to me. She helps me admit when I'm wrong too.
4. L4J. I wouldn't know what to do without my dear sister.
5. My dog Devin.

Here are some of my thoughts on joy:
And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy. Ezra 6:16

Joy is something God loves! When I have joy about something that I'm doing I like doing it. I don't know about ya'll but I wouldn't want someone serving me with an attitude that wasn't that great! I also think that joy is something that you have to make a choice on. Just like being thankful. And the Christian is automatically joyful because Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit.

Anyway that is just what I thought about it.

Hi!

I haven't really had that much time to post, but here's a little update. Mom and Dad went to a conference so 16 yo brother and I watched the kiddos. Everything went really great! I was very blessed at how the children had it on their minds to obey (Mom's been working on that you know!).

I joined the knit or crochet along over at Heirs of Promise (They are doing a crocheted baby blanket and knitted hat). I'm not doing the exact projects that they're doing because I'm making a birthday gift for 8 yo brother. I decided to crochet a scarf that is pretty unique. I'm using Homespun bright red yarn (just like you Eden!! Except yours isn't bright red LOL). I thought that a young boy like him would like something bright, if you know what I mean. I'm using a size 10 crochet hook BTW. Mom is going to do it with me too. We just haven't been really devoted :(.
